Full Version: Bonding Doors Without Rivets

Disclaimer: This is what *I did*.  You do your EXPERIMENTAL aircraft as you see fit,  and assume the responsibility of what you do and how you do it.

I decided to use Sikaflex (Sika Aktivator 100, Sika Primer 209-D Black and Sikaflex-295 UV) for the doors rather than rivets.

I made a jig to hold the shape of the fiberglass stiffener out of wood. So far no rivets.
I'll use 6-32 screws and t nuts for the stall strip to avoid pull rivet action.

Here are some pictures of the process and the door installed.

Others indicated they have used Panel Bonding Adhesive MB-835

Hey Fredy!    Welcome to the Forum!

       Looks like things are moving  along nicely with your project.   Your jig and adhesive instead of pop rivets looks very clean.  I like it.
I'm gonna have to take a drive down sometime and see how it's coming along.
