| Privacy Policy (RotorwayForums.com) Effective Date December 28th, 2025 Overview This Privacy Policy explains what information RotorwayForums.com ("we", "us", "our") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. This policy applies to our website, forums, and related services (the "Services"). Information We Collect 1) Account Information When you register an account, we may collect information such as: username, email address, password (stored as a secure hash), and any profile information you choose to provide. 2) Content You Provide We collect the content you submit to the forum, including posts, replies, profile fields, and reports/messages you send to moderators/administrators. If Private Messaging is enabled, we store the private messages you send through the forum. We do not provide a routine administrative interface or feature that allows forum staff to read users’ private messages, except as required to operate the service (e.g., database administration/backups) or if compelled by law. 3) Technical & Usage Information When you use the Services, we may automatically log: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, timestamps, and referring/exit pages. This information is used for security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and basic site operation. 4) Cookies & Similar Technologies We use cookies that are necessary to operate the forum (for example, to keep you logged in, maintain sessions, store preferences, and help prevent abuse). If you disable cookies, parts of the forum may not function properly. How We Use Information We use information we collect to: - Operate and maintain the forum (accounts, logins, preferences, posting features) - Provide community features (profiles, messaging, moderation tools) - Prevent spam, fraud, and abuse; enforce our rules; and protect users and the Services - Diagnose technical issues and improve reliability and performance - Communicate with you about important account/service notices (e.g., security, policy updates, moderation actions) Google / YouTube Data API Disclosure Google User Data Our site/app offers an optional feature that lets you connect your own Google account to upload videos to your own YouTube channel. If you use this feature, we request access to your Google account only to the extent needed to perform the upload and related actions you initiate. Data We Access Depending on the feature you use, we may access: - Basic account identifiers needed for OAuth authorization (for example, an OAuth token) - YouTube upload permissions and related metadata required to create an upload (title/description/visibility you provide) How We Use the Data We use Google user data solely to provide the user-facing upload feature and related functionality you request inside the app. Videos are uploaded to YouTube under your Google account; we do not upload to a shared forum account/channel. Storage & Retention Access tokens/refresh tokens (if stored) are stored securely and used only to perform the requested YouTube actions under your Google account. We do not sell Google user data. We retain Google authorization data only as long as needed to provide the feature or until you disconnect the integration. You can request deletion at any time (see “Your Choices / Revocation” below). Sharing We do not share Google user data with third parties except: - With Google/YouTube to perform the upload and related API operations you request; and - As required by law. Security We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Google user data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Your Choices / Revocation You can disconnect Google/YouTube access at any time by revoking access in your Google Account permissions (Security → Third-party access). You can request deletion of stored authorization data by contacting us at: admin@rotorwayforums.com Limited Use Statement Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Sharing & Disclosure (General) We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in these situations: Service Providers We may use hosting, email, or other providers to run the forum. These providers process data only on our instructions and for the purpose of providing services to us. Legal & Safety We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of the forum, our users, or others. Business Transfers If the forum is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Third-Party Content & Links (YouTube / imgbb / External Media) Forum posts may contain links or embedded content from third-party services (for example YouTube videos or externally hosted images). When you view content from a third party, your browser may connect directly to that service and the third party may collect information (such as your IP address) and may set cookies or use similar technologies according to their policies. We do not control third-party websites or services. Private Messages Private Messages are intended for direct communication between users. While we do not provide moderators/administrators a built-in feature to view the contents of Private Messages, messages are stored in our database as part of providing the service. Like any online service, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure. Please avoid sharing highly sensitive information via Private Messages. Data Retention We retain account information and forum content for as long as your account remains active and as needed to operate the forum. We may retain certain records (such as IP logs, moderation logs, and security logs) for a reasonable period for security, abuse prevention, and legal compliance. We may also retain information after account closure if needed to comply with legal obligations or to resolve disputes and enforce our policies. Your Choices & Rights Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You may also update profile information in your account settings. Forum posts may remain visible to preserve the integrity of discussions, but may be anonymized (for example, attributed to a generic user) depending on administrative capabilities and forum needs. Security We take reasonable measures to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Children’s Privacy Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps. International Visitors If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.
