Can we post short videos also?
#1
Jared,
Are we able to post short videos in these threads?
Or, is it only pictures.

Yes, you can! Press the upload video to YouTube button in the bottom right and you can upload directly from your phone as long as you have a YouTube account signed in!

When the vidieo (mp4 or mov) is not on a Iphone or on YouTube but on a desktop computer.
It would be advatagious just to upload it, rather than the hassel of going through YouTube.
Just like we do for a picture.

The button will work great on a desktop computer as well. You only need to sign in to YouTube and the button will upload it for you under your account privately (unlisted by default), where only those with the link can view it. To store videos here directly, a data center would need to be setup which can quickly turn into a very expensive forum to run. Images are also stored by a third party, they just don't require an account sign-in.

I understand the extra storage it would take to post a short video.
But...
I tried the "Upload video to YouTube" and wasn't able to post a video.
I got to the point where it was going to send RotorwayForums an email.
So I gave up.

One of the reasons there are so many people on the FaceBook Rotorway site, is the ability to post pictures and short videos very easily.
Posting a picture here works great but posting a short video seams to be cumbersome, and in my case undoable.
Just a thought, without the ability to post short videos easily, will keep some people away.

i thought it was pablo's charisma. haha! your point on short videos as a form of engagement is super valid!

so this is a test video i'm doing from my phone,

i did have to go through all the "two step verification" bullshit...
its more than two steps and its annoying yeah, but after that it seems to give the options of going straight through to my pictures and uploading from there. wait a minute for the video to upload, and now seems alls well?

So does the video have to be uploaded from my desktop to my YouTube channel first?
Then everyone just clicks on the link?
Many of my videos are not on YouTube, just on my desktop computer.

But the bottom line is, these videos have to be uploaded to YouTube first?
Many of my videos I don't want on YouTube.
