IT is also important to remember that if you experience a drive train/power failure during climb out you have very little time to initiate an autorotation due to the increased pitch on the main rotor blades. Always be ready to slam that collective down immediately if the rotor RPM is dropping rapidly for any reason. During climb out you might have one second to enter an auto, in cruise you might have up to 1.5 to 2 seconds and in a descent you have a bit more time due to the low pitch of the main rotor blades.
