Thanks Sam, my hope is that these true accounts will cause some of the newcomers to the helicopter world to think seriously about their training and proper procedures before things turn sour. Over the past 35 years I have been forced into 19 real autorotations due to mechanical failures of some sort, I have learned lessons from every one of them.
