Lyle, when I had my first Exec 152 and was getting boted of hovering I found that the more I moved my cyclic control the less lift the rotor system had. I actually landed at hover power just by moving the cyclic in all directions.
When this Jet Exec began climbing and I could not lower the collective I knew that I had to spill lift and that cyclic maneuvering is what came to mind and praise the Lord, it worked.
