Forum Activity Update
Good morning everyone,As many of you may have noticed, both this forum and ROG have been experiencing significant inactivity recently, with ROG also having periodic outages. Most of the current Rotorway-related discussion seems to be happening in Facebook groups, which is great for quick interaction, but unfortunately, Facebook does not preserve or organize technical information in the same way a dedicated forum can.
At this point, it seems there may be limited interest in utilizing a full-featured forum specifically for Rotorway helicopters. That said, my plan is to keep this forum active at least through the end of the year. If activity remains low over the coming months, I may consider expanding the forum into a broader experimental helicopter forum rather than keeping it focused exclusively on Rotorways. That would likely involve major changes, including the domain name, branding, logos, and overall structure of the site.
Upcoming Updates
Now that final exams are over, I have a more open schedule this week and plan to work on several of the more important forum updates. These include adding a button or link to Orv’s website in the forum header, removing the shoutbox, and replacing it with a custom “latest threads/posts” widget.
I also plan to remove the post-count requirement for special website features, such as the “upload video to YouTube” button, so those tools are more accessible to members.
May Giveaway
For the May giveaway, I’ll be running the winner-selection script at the end of this week. As a reminder, every post you create counts as one raffle ticket, and every new thread counts as two raffle tickets. There are only five days left to increase your odds.
The prizes this month will be simple Rotorway-related items such as T-shirts, coffee mugs, bottle openers, and similar small items. I would like to do helicopter parts giveaways in the future as well, but that will depend on how the forum develops over time.
Hope everyone had a great time at the latest gathering!
