Old gas when ship has sat a long time
#1
I recently began working on a Talon that has sat unused for several years. The fuel had turned to varnish so the entire fuel system needed to be flushed out and fresh fuel added. When I got the engine running it ran rough so I added a bottle of Sea Foam to the fuel tanks and topped off with fresh fuel. My client and I hovered the helicopter for about 30 minutes and it was amazing how the sea foam cleaned out every old deposit and the engine just idled perfectly and ran great at full power.

this was the first thing i checked when i went to look at my machine, was it stored with fuel in it for the duration of its storage.

good tip!
fresh fuel, fresh oil, fresh coolant can go a long way!!!

speaking of coolant. this was the silicon crystal deposit i found in my engine while refreshing coolant hoses, coolant does degrade over time aswell!

Wow, that was quite a lot of crystalization, I have not seen that before.
