Kasey from Montana modified a number of Rotorways with rebuild engines and custom radiators. I personally had two of his engines fail in flight due to his installation of hydraulic lifters that he installed causing the cam shafts to break. Both of these failures happened in flight and when I reported them to him, his response was "hmm, interesting". He did not offer to repair the problems or replace the engines.
Another modification that he installed or offered his customers was a custom radiator with an internal aluminum oil passage to provide additional oil cooling. Two days ago I was with a client flying his helicopter when we noticed the oil pressure dropping and the coolant temperature climbing past the normal ranges. Upon landing we noticed that the antifreeze was contaminated with a great amount of oil and the oil level in the oil tank had dropped by about half a quart. It appears that the internal oil passage on Kasey's custom radiator has fractured allowing high pressure oil to spray into the coolant system.
If you have a Kasey custom radiator, I suggest that you re-route the oil lines so that they do not pass through the oil cooling chamber and plug off the chamber inlets before this happens to you as well.
