Progress is slow, this was never intended to be a rushed project. i am at the point there is nothing left to dissasemble! haha.

i've found quite alot of builder mistakes i've been correcting, such bolts not sitting squarely because holes are drilled slightly off.. thread protrusions, the frame was sitting on the front cross tube with no gap, tailboom support not radiused to clear aft cross tube.

along with Orvs recommendation for extended/reinforced skid tubes now is the perfect time to correct all this work and be meticulous.

wasnt bad at all to make the new skid tubes thanks to a friends tube bender, 2024 alloy instead of the original 6061 also. and with the 4130 insert this gives me the comforting thought that all stresses will be transmitted into the cross tubes given a hard landing. i opted to only bend the front toes and not the heels as i am running bearpaws and that after bend would almost never touch the ground i personally didnt like tripping over that raised heel anyhow..

frames been verified and leveled to 4.8°. it was interesting to me to see the differences in different rotorway models for this leveling with the talon 2.5-3°, 162F 4.5-5.5° and the orginal exec at 4.5°.

i wish i could be more productive with this build this summer but work, and life gets in the way. i'm currently sitting in Mcgrath Alaska, just got done putting fresh leaf springs and airbags on my truck, and building raised garden beds for the Mrs. that lets me do all these shenanigans.

cheers!
