So do i understand that this problem started when you changed the coolant system and went away from the standard RW system? Any small change can cause new problems.
Any changes we make needs to be thoroughly tested to make sure we aren’t causing new problems. The electric clutch’s causes pulleys to wear out and frame brackets to break. The oil cooling system change back in the 90’s now cause the oil to run much hotter than it used to. Is it a problem, it’s a matter of opinion. Many have elected to add oil coolers which have caused new problems with cheap coolers failing or leaking because they weren’t installed properly.
Rusting cylinder liners back in the 80’s were replaced by thicker liners which have caused ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS NOW FOR 30 YEARS!
Making changes now with no factory to test them, has fallen on us in the field to test them. This is a two edged sword. There were changes that worked out well, and them some that were a disaster. It takes lots of time and money to test new ideas.
I guess I should welcome new ideas, but please test them very well before recommending them to all of us out here in the field. The cog belt and broken secondary shafts just about killed RW and still hurts us yet today. People who don’t know the whole story will still stay away.
