  Thread Guidelines
Posted by: Jared Hartzell - 12-21-2025, 02:20 AM - Forum: Helicopters Marketplace - No Replies

Buying or Selling Helicopter Guidelines

  • Please use the prefix tags when creating a new thread under the "Title" section of the text editor. If you are looking for a helicopter, use "Buying". If you are selling a helicopter, use "Selling". There is no need to add [WTB] or [WTS] tags with this newer system.

  • Please remember to update your thread and change the prefix once it's sold or you have made a purchase! This will help other members and guests stop contacting you.

  • Do not list helicopters for sale here that are not Rotorways or Rotorway variants. There are plenty of other websites for that.

  • Do not misrepresent the aircraft or scam other members. Some rotorways are not kept in the best condition and build quality varies greatly. Be transparent about all squawks in your post to prevent wasting serious buyers time. Do not intentionally leave that information out of your thread, any reports will be handled seriously.

Thank you for joining us here at our new rotorway forums, welcome!

In these forums you will find many features you may not be familiar with or used to yet, but don't be intimidated—everything is user-friendly and easy to learn! Thank you for taking the time and effort to register on our forums. As this is a brand new website, we'll need as much activity here as possible. So please start making threads and replies anywhere/everywhere you can to help us make it to the first page on search engines! Currently, we're in the second page of Google without any activity due to search engine optimization techniques. So post, post, post—there are no "stupid questions" here.

Yes, this forum has unlimited photo and video upload capabilities due to utilizing custom API packages. However, these are entirely new and custom features so if you find any serious bugs or technical issues, please report them by filling out the contact form located at the bottom of the page "Contact."

Here's a link to a simple features guide so you can familiarize yourself with them: Rotorway Forums Features Guide
Here's a link to a reminder of the forum rules (good news, there aren't many!): Rotorway Forums Rules
Here's a link to some basic technical tips to try if you run into any issues: Rotorway Forums Technical Tips

In efforts to promote participation and activity: there will be giveaways, competitions, parts vendors, content creators and experts here to assist!

Again, thank you for joining the Rotorway Forums! Please check in daily and help boost our activity. This forum is useless without active members contributing to the forums regularly!

BONUS: All new users registered until February will receive a founding member award to display in their profile and posts!

Note for our content creators and vendors: You will be given access to your special forum within 48 hours where you may begin creating threads. Regular users can post replies to your threads but they cannot create new threads in your specialized forums.

Information Technical Tips
Posted by: Jared Hartzell - 12-20-2025, 07:25 AM - Forum: Forum Rules and Technical Support - No Replies

Here are some technical tips if you run into any functionality issues

Allow pop-ups:
  • Ensure pop-ups are enabled, a lot of functionality depends on pop-ups. There are no ads on the forum and you should disable any ad-blockers if you're having trouble with any features.
Third-Party Browser Extensions:
  • Some third-party browser extensions (such as uBlock Origin) may block pop-ups or disable certain dependencies used for special functions (such as upload buttons). Please disable or deactivate these extension, if they are causing problems with functionality.
Reset Cookies if needed:
  • If you run into any strange issues or features suddenly missing, you should try deleting your cookies (varies by web browser) and refreshing the page (ctrl+F5). This will require you to sign back in.
Report an issue:
  • If you find a serious bug or issue, please report it to the administrator by clicking the contact form at the bottom of the website and we'll try to get it resolved as soon as possible!

Information Rotorway Forums Features + Guides
Posted by: Jared Hartzell - 12-20-2025, 06:02 AM - Forum: Forum Rules and Technical Support - No Replies

This thread contains a list of special Rotorway Forums features and quick guides on how to use the features.

Special Features:

Events Calendar — In the top right menu of the forum, you can find rotorway-specific events to attend! Posting new events will require admin approval.

Awards System — Earn awards to display in your profile and posts! Most rotorway events, giveaways and competitions will come with awards.
  • Awards can be viewed in the Awards page (located in the upper right, next to the Calendar).
  • You may customize the whether or not your awards are displayed and in what order on the "My Awards" page. A maximum of 16 awards can be displayed at a time.
  • You may request certain awards (such as ones for attending events) in the Awards page. Other rewards you may not be able to request.
  • If making a request, you should provide evidence of attendance. However, the event hosts should send a list of forum members after the event is over and you will earn the award automatically as long as you're on the roster!
Media System — Our media system includes easy-to-use buttons for video and image upload with embedded code integration. This allows us to have unlimited images and videos!

Dark Mode — Our forum has a dark theme available that's easier on the eyes! At the very bottom right corner of the website, select Default and switch it to "Dark Theme" to try it out!

Private Messaging System — Our forum has a traditional style private messaging system found in User CP with generous inbox limits ranging from 250 to 500 messages depending on your account status. You can delete old messages to restore space. If this limit is not enough, it may be raised in the future as activity increases. Please be aware that all private messages are inaccessible and encrypted to anyone but the sender/receiver, including administrators and moderators. If you receive spam from a user or threatening messages, please submit a report to Administrators or Moderators with evidence, we cannot review these messages in our system. In fact, there is no code created to have the ability to view private messages since we value user privacy and transparency here. All your messages are safe and secure.
Autosave Feature — Our forum has an autosave feature when making threads and replies. You don't need to worry about losing your effort when making longer posts if you disconnect. Upon reconnecting or revisiting the page, it will prompt you if you want to refill your autosave data, click yes if you don't want to start all over.

How do I upload pictures?

You can upload images a few different ways, depending on the desired result! Our forum limit is 32 MB per image.
Recommended Method to upload images:
  1. Click the "Add thumbnail image to post" button in the bottom left corner under the text editor.
  2. Drag and drop the image.
  3. Ensure "Don't autodelete" is set, so the image remains online indefinitely!
  4. Done!
Alternative Methods to upload images:
If you wish to add a full-scale image to a post you should follow these steps:
  1. Click the "Add full-size image to post" button located to the right of the "Add thumbnail image to post" button.
  2. Locate the file you wish to upload and click "Open."
  3. Done!
If you wish to add an image from another website URL, you should verify it is legal to do so. Then, follow these steps:
  1. Located the URL of the image you wish to post by copying the web address (CTRL+C) or by right-clicking the image and selecting "copy image link."
  2. Click the add image button located above the text editor, to the left of the Omega (special character) symbol.
  3. Paste your URL and then hit OK if the preview looks good.
  4. Done!

New Image Resize Feature Added (12/28/2025): You can now resize images directly in the text editor by clicking on the image and adjusting the size with one of the four red corner buttons. By default, the aspect ratio is locked. If you want to resize the image in free-form style, hold the SHIFT key down before you start resizing.

How do I upload videos?

Simply use the "Upload video to YouTube" button in the bottom right corner underneath the text editor.
This will require signing into your YouTube account and the videos will automatically be uploaded under your YouTube account as an unlisted category.
This forum defaults to unlisted category to ensure the general public will not see your videos on YouTube without a direct link.

Alternatively, you can still upload your own videos on YouTube separately and insert them in a post or thread by following these steps:
  1. Upload your video to YouTube.
  2. Copy your YouTube video link/URL. (It should look something like: "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PYfWmGVz5Q")
  3. Press the insert video button located above the text editor.
  4. Ensure video type is set to "YouTube" and paste your video URL there.
  5. Press OK. You will see text with special tags, this is normal and you're done! Finish your post and you will see the video.

How do I upload documents or files? Like PDF or Excel spreadsheets?

You can upload accepted document types with a few different methods.
Recommended method to upload documents:
  1. Click and drag your document to the attachments section located at the very bottom of the text editor page, this is only shown in FULL EDITOR MODE. Quick reply mode will not show the drag and drop file attachment box in order to save space. It will say "Click or drop some files here to upload..."
  2. Done! Alternatively, you can also click that box and manually find your file and click "Open."
Note: Rotorway Forums does not allow images or videos to be uploaded in the Attachments section to keep data usage to a minimum, as these files are stored directly on our server.
Alternative methods to upload documents (especially larger ones):
  1. Find a suitable file upload host website (such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive).
  2. Upload your file there and find the shareable download link.
  3. Copy and paste the download link in the text editor. (It should be a web address).
  4. Done!

Exclamation Forum Rules
Posted by: Jared Hartzell - 12-20-2025, 04:26 AM - Forum: Forum Rules and Technical Support - No Replies

Rotorway Forum Rules

Though you had already read and agreed to our basic forum rules when registering for an account, I'd like to place a reminder of those rules here and clarify our freedom of speech policy.

Offensive Language (authorized):
Rotorway Forum administrators and moderators will not enforce use of offensive/improper language or cursing. Any language used that does not appear to violate any laws will not be removed and no action will be taken against the members, unless it may violate law. Warnings will be issued if any language used is deemed illegal (such as perceived threats). Continued illegal posts/language may result in a permanent IP and/or MAC address ban. You may only report a member if you believe they have violated any laws.

Everyone has different opinions, beliefs and values which may cause conflicts. Rotorway Forum team members will respect and value everyone's individual freedom of speech to the fullest extent possible.

Intentional Misinformation or Misrepresentation (unauthorized):
As we deal with the high-risk nature of experimental aviation, any intentional misinformation posted or trolling (yes, some people do this) that could result in the loss of life or property  are considered serious offenses and will be enforced. This includes cases of misrepresentation (offering flight instruction services and not possessing a current helicopter CFI certificate, for example). Keep in mind, there is likely to be much unintentional misinformation spread as this is a public forum, please conduct use due diligence and conduct research before taking suggestions from other members. Rotorway Forums members and staff are not responsible for any information or misinformation held within this public forum. We are in no way shape or form affiliated with the Federal Aviation Administration, but aviation safety is critical to uphold wherever we can.
